Guinness Global Equity Income
Überblick
The Guinness Global Equity Income Fund is designed to provide income and long-term capital growth by investing in companies that can pay sustainable, growing dividends.
Dividend-paying global stocks offer an attractive combination of liquidity and yield. Thanks to the power of compounding, re-invested dividends make a gradual but potent contribution to long-term returns.
The Guinness Global Equity Income Fund is designed to capture these benefits and to avoid the worst of market downturns. It holds a high-conviction, low-turnover portfolio of quality stocks in the form of consistently profitable dividend-paying companies.

A history of paying a dividend can both indicate and instil good capital discipline in company management. Quality stocks tend to run by focused management teams that use capital efficiently to create profitable and growing companies.
Why invest in quality income stocks?
- Focus on consistent high return on capital – This is a good indication of a company's ability to pay healthy dividends. The Fund invests in companies that are unusually consistent in generating returns on capital above their cost of capital.
- Growth and income – Our approach to dividend investing is to focus on companies that can sustainably grow their dividend into the future, rather than simply looking for companies with a high dividend yield.
- High conviction – The Fund invests in just 35 broadly equally weighted companies, balancing the benefits of diversification with the ability of each holding to contribute meaningfully to performance. This structure results in a portfolio that is truly differentiated from the benchmark index.
- Fundamentally driven – By focusing on 'bottom-up' stock selection, rather than trying to make decisions based on an expected outlook for the world economy, the Fund invests in good companies that may have fallen out of favour in the short term but can weather most economic environments.
- Low turnover – A typical holding period of an individual company is between three and five years. We invest for the long term and recognise the costs of trading in and out of securities.
- Repeatable and independent – Ian Mortimer and Matthew Page have managed the Fund since launch. They have developed an investment process that is clear, robust, transparent and scalable. Their approach filters out much of the noise and hype that surrounds companies to focus on the true signals that drive company valuations. By performing their own company research and analysis, using their own proprietary modelling systems, the managers try to avoid some of the behavioural biases associated with being unduly influenced by market sentiment.
The Guinness Global Equity Income Fund could be suitable for investors drawn to income investing that are looking for the combination of long-term capital growth and income that dividend-paying equities offer, or for exposure to mature, profitable companies whose shares have tended to fall in value less than the broader market during downturns.

INSIGHTS IN FOCUS
Rising S&P 500 concentration was rational - but mega-cap earnings dominance is now fading
After a volatile start to 2026, US equity markets have returned to a familiar pattern, with mega-cap stocks reasserting their leadership and index concentration rising to levels last seen during the financial crisis. We analyse whether this is due to genuinely improved earnings, and the early signs that this growth is beginning to broaden.
