Guinness Asian Equity Income
Überblick
The Guinness Asian Equity Income strategy seeks income and capital growth and invests in high-quality dividend-paying Asian equities across the Asia Pacific region.
The Asia Pacific region includes both developed and emerging economies. Its population, half of the world's total, is younger than that of the developed world, and getting richer.
While western economies struggle to sustain economic growth, it is Asia's dynamism, expanding population and increasing wealth that is shaping our economic future.
The Guinness Asian Equity Income Fund is designed to give investors exposure to this fast-growing region, through a focused portfolio of Asian equities.

Why invest in an Asian equity income fund?
The region's success in focusing on industrialisation and steadily increasing the value of goods being produced has brought higher wages and household incomes. Growing personal wealth underpins an expanding consumer economy, which over time puts the region on a slower but more self-sustaining growth path.
Income opportunities across Asia are rising and it is now no longer simply the workshop of the world. With its growing affluence it is now a key marketplace for cars, phones, clothing, and luxury goods, as well as for health care and financial services, and high quality Asian stocks are increasingly within reach.
Alongside the growth, however, comes greater volatility and risk. We seek to manage this by investing in companies which have proven records of generating returns in excess of the cost of capital, can successfully reinvest those returns in order to grow, and are committed to paying dividends that can grow over time.
- Focus on consistent high return on capital – Consistent high return on capital is a good indication of a company's durability, and its ability to pay healthy dividends. The Fund invests in companies that are unusually consistent in generating returns on capital above their cost of capital.
- Growth and income – By targeting companies that can grow sustainable dividends over time, we keep a focus on financial strength and long-term income growth rather than the short-term appeal of a high yield that may not be maintained.
- High conviction – The Fund invests in 36 broadly equally weighted companies, balancing the benefits of diversification with the ability of each holding to add meaningfully to performance. This structure results in a portfolio that is truly differentiated from the benchmark index.
- Fundamentally driven – Bottom-up stock selection focuses on companies with persistently high returns on capital and strong balance sheets, rather than making decisions based on regional economic forecasts.
- Low turnover – Investing for the long-term reduces unnecessary trading costs and gives companies time to deliver on their potential, with positions typically held for three to five years.
- Repeatable and independent – A clear, robust and transparent investment process filters out the noise and hype surrounding companies, allowing us to focus on the true signals that drive valuations, applied consistently and at scale.
The Guinness Asian Equity Income Fund could be suitable for investors looking for an Asian dividend fund offering income opportunities across Asia or a diversifying source of investment income alongside capital growth. It invests in high-quality Asian dividend stocks with proven records of generating returns on capital above the cost of capital, enabling them both to pay sustainable dividends and invest for growth.
