John Hickey

Head of Finance (Ireland)

Responsibilities

John is the head of finance (Ireland) and supports the firm’s UK operations.

He is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, regulatory and capital oversight, and audit and tax coordination. He works closely with internal teams and external advisers to enhance financial processes, deliver board-level reporting and support the firm’s strategic and commercial objectives.

Background

Prior to joining Guinness in 2024, John was a financial controller at KB Associates (Waystone Group), and a financial planning & reporting manager at the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA). Before that he was a financial accountant at KBC Fund Management and a financial analyst at AIB, having trained in audit with Deloitte.

John has been a Fellow Chartered Accountant (ACA/FCA) for over 15 years and holds professional diplomas in capital markets, taxation and financial advice. He holds an MSc and BSc in Accounting and Finance from the Dublin Institute of Technology.
